While the current persistent cold front may seem daunting, the heavy rains are indeed a blessing for the Zevenwacht vineyards. The cold also allows the vines to lie dormant, which is essential for their health. The abundant rainfall replenishes the soil and also fills our dams, providing the necessary water for required for irrigation as the berries form for the next harvest.
During this period, we also focus on pruning, ensuring the vines are well-prepared for the upcoming growing season. This natural cycle supports robust vine health and sets the stage for a bountiful summer harvest.
