The La Motte Bakery reopens after its winter break on 10 July with a French-inspired blackboard menu just in time for the Bastille Festival.
Choose a classic French onion soup with a cheesy slice of crustique, the finesse of an airy soufflé with Franschhoek trout or treat yourself to the indulgence of a homemade croissant ice cream! All these dishes come with wine recommendations from La Motte’s latest vintage releases.

With our rich French winemaking heritage, La Motte is always eager to participate in the annual Franschhoek Bastille Festival.
Join us at the estate for a wine tasting with French flair or visit our stand in the festival marquee to try some of your favourites, like the recently released 2022 vintage of the Bordeaux-inspired red blend, the popular La Motte Millennium as well as the delicate 2023 Vin de Joie Rosé, inspired by the famous rosé wines of Provence.

More than baguettes and croissant, this year, there’s another fabulous French bread at the La Motte Bakery: the Fougasse.
