Marianne Wine Estate
As autumn ends, it seems like time has slowed down a bit – a lovely time to unwind with a glass of wine at Marianne Wine Estate.

The quieter season

As autumn ends, most of the tourists have gone home and it seems like the time has slowed down a bit. You don’t have to book 3 days earlier to do any kind of activity, or wait in line when they don’t take bookings. So next time you feel spontaneous, just walk in at Marianne Wine Estate’s Tasting Room, grab a free chair and unwind with a glass of wine, just looking at the leaves falling from the trees.

Harvest 2024, our winemaker’s feedback

“If I had to sum up this past harvest, I would probably say: 'Worth the hard work!'

It was a rollercoaster of emotions! The season started with incredibly heavy rainfalls, the soil was constantly wet, making it very difficult to work it and to treat the vines.

Then, a massive switch that happened almost overnight, the weather became super dry and hot. We had a few rainy days in the spring and summer months leading up to harvest, but never exceeding 15mm at a time.

This sudden change led to fast growing vines. The shoots were quite developed, early in the season, but still fragile, which became concerning when the wind started picking up.
The strong winds caused a lot of damage. With an estimated loss of 30 to 40% of yield.

And yet, despite all the struggle, the quality is there!

We harvested our whites at the perfect time. The berries were beautiful, and we can already tell in the cellar that the aromas are amazing, intense and accompanied by a great acidity.

Regarding the reds, we couldn’t be more excited. 2024 is a year for red – at least at Marianne. Yes, we had less to work with, but the quality harvested makes up for the loss. In the cellar, the colours are dark, the tannins are plenty and smooth and the young wines are already so well balanced.

You will have to wait a while before being able to taste Marianne’s 2024 vintage, but you can trust us on this one: the wait will be worth it!”

Our Sauvignon Blanc 2022 is out!

You know us by now, at Marianne we only release our wines when we think they are ready. That’s why you won’t find a 2024 vintage on our shelves before a few years.

Our Sauvignon Blanc is a blanc fumé, not only matured and aged in French oak, but also in Acacia barrels.

The 2022 vintage received the amazing score of 4.5* from the Platter’s Wine Guide.

It is a wine you can easily enjoy by itself, on a sunny Autumn day, or pair it with your seafood, poultry, and even creamy pasta. A very versatile wine!
