Our beautiful Overberg Highlands is facing the continued threat from a mining application submitted by Cienth Pty Ltd, a registered company, to the Department of Minerals and Energy for permission to prospect in the area outside the village of Napier. If their application is approved, they will have the opportunity to prospect and potentially mine a 4,200-hectare expanse of land. This will not only be detrimental to the local wine tourism and agricultural industry but will also have a severe impact on the social cohesion of this community. For more detailed information, please visit the new website: savetheoverberg.com.
Those who object to the prospect of mining in this area are urged to register as an interested and affected party to the application by following the link below and completing the online form.
