It is exciting to talk about wine, winemaking, and pairings and to have a good laugh with new and old customers. We here at Klawer Wine Cellars love to share our wine and our story but also some wise to the word.
Here are a few new years resolutions to our fellow wine lovers.
Try new wines
Wine is always changing, just like your taste buds. Everyone has their favorites but some tasting could broaden your “wine horizon”. Have an open mind and try any wine that sounds delightful.
Learn the lingo
Wine terminology can be daunting. Start small, learn a few phrases that will help you understand wine better for example, the higher the tannins the more bitter the wine tastes. Look at different flavor profiles from wines you adore and see what it is that tickles your taste buds.
Go local or global
Be it wine from France, Spain or a cava from Germany, explore the world through wine. But before you travel to far, remember Klawer Wine Cellars is right here in the Western Cape.
Take notes
The best way to relive a wine experience is by re-reading your notes to remember certain flavour profiles. Write down the vintage and the winery it came from. This way you will be able to compare wines easily.
Do wine pairings
Klawer wines has so many to choose from; olive and wine, chocolate and wine even cheese and wine. When wine and food complement each other, it creates an unforgettable culinary experience. Be the person who makes bolder choices, you might fall but you might just fly.
