The Landskroon Blanc de Noir Pinotage Off Dry 2023 is the perfect anytime wine, and it's excellent with summer salads.

Landskroon Wine Estate is a jewel in the crown of the Paarl Wine Appellation. It sits on the southwestern-facing lower folds of the Paarl Mountain with it’s three massive granite boulders on top. The Khoi people used to call it Tortoise Mountain, the Dutch settlers named it Paarl Mountain because the rocks shone like pearls after rain.

Paul de Villiers V is the current cellarmaster continuing the family heritage of making fine and much-awarded wine. His winemaker is Fanie Geyser and their assistant is Kaylin Baxter.

Landskroon Blanc de Noir Pinotage Off Dry 2023

The Pinotage grapes for the Landskroon Blanc de Noir Pinotage Off Dry 2023 were taken to the cellar where they were destalked and crushed. Only free-run juice was used and was sent to a slow and cold fermentation after a cool settling. The wine was then prepared for bottling.

Pour

From a clear glass Burgundy shaped bottle, closed with a screw cap. The label is elegant in its simplicity. In the glass, the wine is a pale sea urchin shell pink. The aromas are of red berries and pink roses. The entry to the palate is crisp and refreshing. Berries and plums are found in the mid palate followed by a refreshing long aftertaste.

Pair

The Landskroon Blanc de Noir 2023 is the perfect anytime wine. It drinks really well on a hot summer’s day. Excellent with food like a summer salad, or a platter of smoked salmon trout strips with a tartare sauce. Fine with pasta with a creamy sauce. Excellent with a tranche of Dalewood Fromage.
