Pod Red Blend 2020
This beautifully balanced blend of 60% Shiraz and 40% Pinotage is a tribute to Bernard's pioneering spirit. It's a symphony of flavours that mirror the rich tapestry of the South African wine landscape. The wine is full bodied and fragrant, brimming with rich and layered dark fruit, black cherries and plums on the nose. The palate shows rich and generous fruits, balanced and fresh with a fine chalky tannin that is velvety and coating. The finish is harmonious with a persistent sweet and savoury spice.
Quintessential Couple Rosé 2020
A nod to the remarkable partnership of Fredagh and Bernard, this Rosé is a love letter to their innovation and resilience. A perfect blend of 93% Pinotage and 7% Sémillon present well defined notes of strawberry, raspberry and cherry continuing on through to the palate. Bright acidity balances the sweet fruit, with well defined "textural" mouthfeel qualities resulting from the small addition of Sémillon, planted in 1936.
Freda White Blend 2022
Named after our matriarch, Fredagh Podlashuk, this elegant blend of 55% Chenin Blanc; 40% Semillon; 5% Grenache Blanc is a testament to Fredagh's finesse and commitment to creating wines of exceptional character and complexity. Delicate floral aromas entice on entry, with hints of pear drop, yellow peach and green almonds, which follow through onto the palate. On the finish, the wine delights with its pithy character and a slight saline edge for a lingering, fresh sensation.
