Simonsig
Simonsig shares news about their passion for Pinotage, their recent wine awards, their milestones, and upcoming wine events.

A passion for Pinotage

Pinotage Day takes place on the second Saturday of October each year. Being a truly South African cultivar, and the first red wine released by Simonsig in 1971, it's no surprise that this grape holds a special place in our heart.

Today we boast six expressions of this characterful cultivar, ranging from vibrant bubblies to powerful blends.

This Pinotage month we invite you to come and explore this grape in 6 different wines at our Tasting Room with our special "Pick of the Pinotage" tasting or in the comfort of your home with friends with our exclusive "Pick of the Pinotage" pack that features one bottle each of:

  • Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rosé 2021
  • Kaapse Vonkel Satin Nectar Rosé 2022
  • Pick of the Bunch Pinotage 2021
  • Redhill Pinotage 2020
  • Frans Malan 2019
  • A complimentary Needless to Say Rosé 2023
