The name Hannibal is a symbolic expression of the connection between the Old and New Worlds of viticulture, with the African elephant famously carrying the Carthaginian general Hannibal on his invasion of Italy.
Alongside his pioneering work with Pinot Noir, Peter Finlayson, the founder of Bouchard Finlayson, was instrumental in importing Sangiovese and Nebbiolo into South Africa.
Bouchard Finlayson Hannibal is a memorable red blend that combines Sangiovese, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Nebbiolo, Mourvédre and Barbera into a wine that emerges far greater than the sum of its parts.
