Boschendal has recently received prestigious awards that highlight their commitment to sustainability.

Boschendal Estate has recently received three prestigious awards from the South African Landscapers Institute, highlighting our commitment to sustainability.

  • Most Innovative and Original Use of Plant Material
  • Landscape Design and Construction
  • Environmental Conservation Work

This recognition affirms our goal to be an ethical village, setting a global benchmark and inspiring ways of living that regenerate nature.

Honouring our teams

We'd like to offer a special thank you to the Keith Kristen team, whose support and collaboration have been instrumental in our success. We're also grateful to Andy Jasper, the director of gardens and parklands and Kholwane Thela, our gardens and landscaping manager and his talented team for their horticultural expertise and unwavering dedication, which has been crucial in nurturing and preserving our beautiful landscapes.

The Werf Food Garden Project

That's not all. There are bigger things yet to come for our gardens. After nearly two years of review and collaboration with our dedicated heritage advisors and the individuals involved in the seminal work to restore Boschendal in the late 1970s, Andy Jasper has joined forces with award-winning landscape architect James Roberts (FRLA).

Working together with the team at Boschendal and with Alan Dawson Gardens, the result will be a garden that is not just beautiful but also productive, growing food, herbs, flowers and fynbos. From here, you can access green corridors that take you to experience the farm’s regenerative techniques as well as the wider landscape.

We hope everyone will leave inspired to live our farm their way, and the garden will allow you to do this in so many ways, again and again.
