Boschendal is home to Lohmann Brown and Amberlink White chickens that move freely around our farm and play a key role in our regenerative farming practices.
They help us to replenish our soil together with assistance from our Angus Beef cattle and sheep who eat unwanted parasites and weeds.
What’s more, our friendly feathered friends produce the delicious free-range eggs you know and love, available at our eateries and Farm Shop.

Innovative mobile coops that benefit our chickens and the environment
At Boschendal, we believe that true free-range means more than just a small patch of earth for our layer hens.
Our chickens are free-range and pasture-raised, roaming freely during the day and protected in mobile coops at night. What's more they enjoy a natural and diverse diet of grubs, grasses, and organic feed. Not only does this ensure the best quality eggs for you to enjoy, but it also helps to fertilise our soil which we actively regenerate and replenish for generations to come.

At Boschendal, we are committed to natural farming and do not use any hormones, chemicals, or pesticides.
Boschendal is also Animal Welfare Approved which guarantees that our animals are raised outdoors on pastures with only sustainable, high-welfare farming practices.
