Wine of the Month: Viognier 2022

Our Viognier 2022 is grown on slopes caressed by cooling False Bay breezes, intensifying the flavours of grapefruit, apricot and that spicey hint of white pepper.

On the nose, the aromas of white pear, subtle geranium and pine needles are the perfect mood-setters for a romantic, mid-summer afternoon. With an aging potential of 2-5 years, our Viognier may just be the perfect investment in your future Valentines plans. In the spirit of the season, our special. Buy 5 Get 6, is hard not to love. Find it on the farm and online until the end of February.

Wine and macaron pairing

Every good love story has to have a touch of intrigue. This month we have channelled this recipe for romance into our wine and macaron pairing.

At our tasting room, prepare to be surprised and delighted by a selection of our best wines and an array of enchanting macarons.

Explore three uniquely flavoured macarons - green apple & fynbos, chilli & cherry and tropical fruit medley with a pineapple and passionfruit filling, each paired with one of our wines for only R90!

A new year, ownership and ventures

Neethlingshof's new ownership has brought in a breath of fresh investments enabling us to take our already exceptional wine to the next level in our pursuit of excellence.

The upcoming harvest

We are extremely excited about the upcoming harvest and are looking forward to trying our new toys out in the cellar, and on the farm. The late November rains proved to be regenerative for our vineyards – with the vines baring the fruit of these showers as they are now looking healthy with a good crop hanging.

At the moment we have veraison in motion – the process in which red grapes are changing from green to dark colours while the white grapes are moving toward ripeness.

This means spending a lot of time in the vineyards, tasting and sampling, ensuring that the fruit is harvested just at the ‘red’ time. At this stage, we are looking to begin harvesting
at the end of January.

Keep watching this space – we hope to share the first fruits of our labour shortly as the crop arrives at the cellar! From our winemaker De Wet Viljoen.

Spot us at the Stellenbosch Street Soiree

Join us on the 1st and 15th of February in the City of Oaks as you peruse an array of the Cape’s best wines and tastiest street food. This event in the heart of this historic town is the perfect space to enjoy some breezy tunes and easy-going mingling with a glass of Neethlingshof wine in hand.
