Way back in 2001, we at Diemersfontein released our very first Pinotage, and what a hit it was. The first coffee chocolate Pinotage was born and raked in the awards immediately.
The 2001 vintage received the Paul Sauer Trophy for best wooded Pinotage at the South African Young Wine show plus a spot in the ABSA Top 10 Pinotage competition and was quickly christened the 'People's Pinotage'.
Today, this wine remains a firm favourite of many and shares the Pinotage podium at Diemersfontein with the flagship Carpe Diem Pinotage and the fruit-driven, lightly wooded The Prodigy.
