Laborie
Laborie received 4 accolades, including a platinum award for their Laborie Chenin Blanc 2022, at the Michelangelo Awards.

In its 26th year, Africa's largest wine and spirits competition – the Michelangelo International Wine and Spirit Awards – has just wrapped up another successful year recognising excellence within the industry.

Michelangelo remains unique in Africa in that all judges are hand-picked wine experts hailing from five different continents.

All entries are judged blind by panels of 5 judges, using the 100-point international recognised OIV judging system.

The awards, which celebrate the best of South Africa's wine industry, were announced at an elegant ceremony hosted by wine lover and television presenter Marciel Hopkins at The Southern Sun Hotel in Cape Town on Saturday 3 September.

Among the illustrious winners was Laborie Wines, who walked away with four accolades, including a platinum award for our Laborie Chenin Blanc 2022, applicable to wines that receive 96 points or more, double gold for wines with at least 93 points for the Laborie Rosé 2022 and our Chardonnay 2022 and Shiraz 2021 a gold medal each.

We are immensely proud of these achievements, which reflect years of hard work and dedication to crafting beautiful award-winning South African wines.

Congratulations to our winemaker Kobus van der Merwe and his team on this achievement.
