Keeping true to its reputation as a pioneering and innovative brand, and in celebration of its 80th birthday, Robertson Winery (RW) has relaunched two of its most popular ranges in eye-catching, colourful celebratory packaging.
The RW Natural Sweet range and RW Cultivar Light range are now both enrobed in beautiful roses, reflecting one of the admired attributes of the well-known Robertson wine valley.
RW Marketing Manager Ankia Niemann says that the brand's birthday celebration is all about paying homage to the incredible valley from which Robertson Winery originates. “Robertson is best known for wine, horses and roses - and it’s this sentiment that inspired the rose refresh of these two much-loved ranges.” The brand commissioned artist Riaan Marais, to artistically recreate specific varieties of roses that are found in the Robertson valley, to be used on the new packaging.
The Natural Sweet range features Fairest Cape, Brumilda Roos and Just Joey rose imagery across the Red, Rosé and White wines. Although the Cultivar Light range boasts the same roses, they were created in an informal modern style that was inspired by impressionist watercolour flower painting. This really captures the feeling and experience of this light range.
Robertson Winery was a pioneer in light cultivar wines, launching its first range in 2008. The initial range featured a Sauvignon Blanc Extra Light, Chenin Blanc Light and Pinotage Rosé Light. This popular range was extended when an Extra Light Merlot was added to the collection in 2011. This refreshing, light and fruity style of wine, with lighter alcohol levels and fewer calories, has proven to be very popular, because quality and taste have been prioritised.
“We wanted to celebrate this proud milestone by breathing life, colour and fun into some of our most loved ranges,” says Niemann. She goes in to say that they are thrilled that the final products exceeded their expectations. “We look forward to eighty more years of #MoreToShare with our trade partners, the Robertson Winery team and of course our customers.”
