What's happening at Val du Charron this winter?

Val du Charron
The days are getting shorter and the first fires have been lit in the hearths at Val Du Charron Wine and Leisure Estate.

Fire burning in a cosy lounge at Val du Charron, Wellington.

The vineyards are a kaleidoscope of red, yellow, and orange as their leaves turn colour and slowly fall and the vines prepare to bunker down for winter. The changing seasons remind us to slow things down, to seek comfort and warmth in the company we keep and the wines we share.

New wine releases

In the winery, we have very busy bottling before we all take a break during the school holidays and we are proud to release:

Black Countess 2021

The Black Countess 2021 Blend is a combination of Shiraz 40%, Mourvèdre 20%, Pinotage 20%, Grenache 10%, and Petit Verdot 10%.

Our signature blends. From dark and seductive origins comes a perfumed, curvaceous yet elegant wine with hints of red berries. Firm tannins and sweet cranberry and cherry flavours create a richness to this first date wine with a lingering aftertaste where the red fruit aromas dominate and the oak creates the basis for the fruit to express itself.

Four White Legs 2022

Four White Legs 2022 contains 36% Pinot Gris, 31% Chardonnay, 13% Roussanne, 10% Viognier, and 10% Grenache Blanc.

Soft green tint, Ripe, supple peach, and apricot welcome you on the nose, nuances of lime and a hint of sweet citrus on the palate. A medium-bodied wine with a good palate, fresh acidity, and lingering dry finish.
