Villiera Wines
Heading into the summer, we are positive about how our vineyards look and we are expecting a good harvest in 2022. We experienced good rainfall in winter and the flowering period has not been affected by excessive wind. There is still the possibility of a curveball but right now we are excited about the potential.
Our Tradition Brut and Tradition Rosé Brut were both awarded Double Gold and Gold at the Gilbert and Gaillard International Challenge and Michelangelo Awards respectively. Monro Brut 2014 received Double Gold in both competitions.
We also did well at the National Wine Challenge, where Tradition Brut and Monro Brut 2014 received Double Platinum awards and Monro Merlot 2018, a Double Gold. At the recent Veritas Awards, our 2019 Monro Merlot was awarded Gold. Both our new label reds did well at the Gilbert and Gaillard International Challenge, with the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon being awarded Double Gold and the 2019 Merlot, a Gold medal.
It was pleasing to be awarded a Michelangelo Gold Medal for Down to Earth Red 2019 which has proved to be a firm favourite in our online shop. Our did well at the International Wine & Spirit Competition earning 93-points.
New look labels
Seven years ago, we introduced a big change to our varietal range to reflect the sustainable nature of our business. It has served its purpose, but now we have decided to revert to a more traditional front label whilst retaining our sustainable messages on the back labels. The white wine labels are similar enough to recognize, but the red varietal labels have undergone a colour change (from cream to charcoal).
Fizzytheraphy Festival
We're delighted to once again host our annual Fizzytherapy Festival this year. Enjoy tastings of our award-winning Cap Classiques as well as our Villiera and Domaine Grier ranges, tasty street-style food from the hippest food truck vendors with music by Newton & Co.
