Ryan Puttick, winemaker at Old Road Wine Co., grew up on a farm in a remote corner of the Northern Cape. He believes in the ability of wine to tell a story and bring people together. Wines with character and staying power, and that is what drew him to the Old Road Wine Co., a company making interesting wines that tell the colourful stories of local legends who shaped the village around the old main road.
The brand was started four years ago, officially launching 2 years ago. Old Road Wine Co. is all about site specific wines, paying attention to special sites in and around Franschhoek. The top range has three single vineyard wines; a Semillon, Chenin Blanc and a Shiraz. Both the Semillon, planted in 1936 and the Chenin, planted in 1982 are part of the Old Vine Project.
Their other ranges celebrate specific blends and their quirky range is a side-step into a world of unique characteristics, where individuality from the vine is celebrated through the creation of delicious distinctive wines.

Pay them a visit at their brand home in Franschhoek, discovering their wines at the Anvil tasting room or for a food and wine experience at The Fat Man Restaurant. Visit www.oldroadwinecompany.com for more details
