These charities use these donations as stock for their charity shop to raise funds or they hand out to the local communities that they serve. These shelters and worthy charities play such an important role and even more so this year, with many members of our community being in need. These charities include the likes of PATCH, U-turn, Helderberg Hospice, Stellenbosch Night Shelter, and an additional 30 other amazing charities in and around the Western Cape!
As this has been a year of unprecedented change, the format for this years’ clothing collection will differ to years gone by. Our recent Restaurant Drive saw us donate over 17,000 bottles of wine to help raise R2.7 million for over 80 hard-hit restaurants, across the country. We were completely overwhelmed with the phenomenal response we received and the Restaurant Drive was a wonderful success that helped the hospitality industry in its time of need.
For this years’ Clothing Collection we invite you to the estate with your old clothes and we will donate, on your behalf, to a local charity! The drive will run from the 6th of July until the 31st of August 2020.
For every 3kgs of clothes you bring, you will get a free freshly brewed cup of Black Magic coffee or a perfectly steeped cup of tea and delicious salted caramel biscuit from The Bakery at Jordan, which can be enjoyed in the tranquil setting of the estate or as a takeaway.
How it is going to work?
Visit us at the estate, Monday – Sunday between 10:00-16:00 and bring along your clothing for donation. For every 3 kilograms of clothing, you will receive a free coffee/tea and a salted caramel biscuit from The Bakery at Jordan. The drive will run from the 6th of July until the 31st of August 2020.
Whilst you are here, why not join us for The Bakery’s special winter sharing meal?
A slow-cooked lamb Rogan Josh served with pickled aubergine, toasted coconut, raita and traditional naan bread. Enjoy with a hot beverage of your choice and end on a sweet note with the chef’s Patisserie of the day for only R150 per person, based on 2 people sharing.
To adhere to regulations and also to keep the health and safety of our staff members in mind, clothes donated to the Winter Clothing Collection will need to be washed and folded and brought to the estate in clear bags, labelled with its contents.
If you are not able to join us at the estate and still have clothes to donate, please contact us at events@jordanwines.com for a full list of the charities we support!
