Cobie has been an integral part of the wine industry for many many years and built close friendships within it.
She and her husband Bjorn van Oort have been the brainchild behind many wonderful initiatives, in particular the Pinotage and Biltong festival, and the Cab Franc Carnival.
Hugo van Vuuren from Avontuur said: ''It is with great sadness that I have to let you know that Cobie passed away earlier today. She has been part of our team since 2003 and I myself had the privilege to work with her since 2005. Cobie has shared her love and valuable knowledge to many people. We will miss her."
I personally have worked closely with Cobie for a long time, and will really miss her energetic and proactive presence.
We are devastated by the news, and our thoughts and love are with Bjorn and her family and also her extended family at Avontuur and the Winelands.
