Who are these thousands of people still visiting the winelands every day?

The lockdown and COVID-19 have changed our world forever. Wineries and restaurants are closed and hotels are empty. But we are delighted to report that wine.co.za still has over 5000 wine lovers visiting our beautiful winelands daily, from the comfort of their homes.

The news that wineries cannot export or sell wine has been a massive blow to the wine industry. We are grateful that the harvest was allowed to continue, with many wineries finishing off during this week, as Easter is generally seen as the end of the harvest.  And there is a small silver lining - it is a bountiful harvest.

Daily we see more than 5000 visitors browsing wine.co.za, looking for wine info, news, events (virtually these days), photos, videos and so much more. We have wine fact sheets going back almost 25 years now, so for sommeliers and restaurants, it is really easy to look up wine info going back 2 decades.

The trend for access to online info is certainly continuing and over the last week we have seen a major spike in our readership as people are trying to keep up with the world of wine. 30% of these readers are international, which really helps to reach a global market, as the rand hits a new low. This will make wine marketing even tougher, as international travel is also restricted under current global lockdown circumstances, but you can still do it, virtually.

We are very pleased to be able to maintain an online presence with our team working from home and can continue to offer and deliver most of our services during this challenging time.

Not only are we keeping our online presence as active as possible but we have also launched 20+ Winery Wine Shops in the last 5 months with our CellarDirect Online Shop platform . A remarkable feat of launching 1 new wine shop every day since lockdown, ready to get going when we return to the new normal.

This efficient wine shop solution makes it really simple and easy for producers to sell their wines to consumers and wine clubs at cellar door prices. wine.co.za sets the shops up and handles the payments, customer liaison and logistics and provides wineries total transparent access to their customer database, members and sales history.

Welcome to the newest additions to the list: Spider Pig Wines, Bonnievale, Cloof, Idun, Grangehurst, Upland Le Belle Rebelle, Lyngrove and Zevenwacht.

wine.co.za's services offers wineries and wine-related businesses easy and affordable access to a global audience.
Use this time wisely to keep your online presence up to date by sending us your news, virtual events, wine info, promos, stories, videos and more.

Congrats to our Top viewed Wineries for March 2020.
