Le Grand Tasting Wine Awards HK 2019: The only competition in Hong Kong where wines are judged by consumers!

Bettane+Desseauve experts are a reference in the wine world and have created a unique competition, placing consumers at the heart of a blind tasting. Two criteria: taste and price. This wine competition originally launched in Paris five years ago celebrates its second year in Hong Kong.

85 wines were awarded during the edition 2019 either gold, silver or bronze medals,  among more than 300 references came from all the corners of the world. The ratings and tasting comments of these winning wines are now available on Le Grand Tasting HK wine app, where they can also be purchased (if  they are available in Hong Kong).

Bettane+Desseauve is a duo of French expert wine critics, Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve. In 2005, they created the bettane+desseauve media group that publishes, amongst others, the Bettane +Desseauve Great Guide of French Wines and the bettane+desseauve internet site and blog. Their guide is considered one of the most complete and influential on the market. They also collaborate with numerous French and international publications on a regular basis.

As a logical extension to their journalistic and publishing activities, bettane+desseauve have been organising Wine Experiences around the world since 2006: a 2-day gathering of the greater names of wines from France and around the world, presenting their wines to trade and consumers.

And because consumers are as much at the heart of the wine world as are the producers, bettane+desseauve give them a voice. With the Le Grand Tasting Wine Awards, in France and in Hong Kong, consumers are asked to taste and evaluate (blind) hundreds of wines from around the world, based on their value: how pleasurable.
