Survivor Pinotage Reserve 2017, a new addition to this unbridled Swartland wine range, has triumphed as the top Pinotage at the 2019 Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show.

Winning the Trophy and a Gold medal for the Best Pinotage of the competition, the limited edition Survivor wine was one of 54 Pinotages entered this year. “We are overjoyed with our first Trophy at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show after our Survivor Sauvignon Blanc 2017 won a Gold medal at this prestigious competition last year,” says an elated Ben Snyman, Head Winemaker at Overhex Wines International.

Only 1 500 individually numbered bottles of Survivor Reserve Pinotage 2017 have been produced. Meticulously crafted from 100% Swartland Pinotage grapes, the wine is a hearty expression of black cherries, black olives and chocolate complemented by elegant notes of cedar and oak. The wine was matured for 15 months in new, 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels.

This top tier Reserve Pinotage is presented in an attractive three-bottle case, with each bottle showcasing a unique label depicting the spirited Nguni cow that inspires the Survivor range, firmly rooted in the Swartland. The wine also comes in individual gift packs and is available at a cellar door price of R390 per bottle. For wine purchases, email lisa@overhex.com.

Be one of the first to taste the highly acclaimed Survivor Pinotage Reserve 2017 at Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show Public Tastings in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 12 June and in Cape Town on Thursday, 20 June.
