A Feast In A Wine Lounge. "Come Feast" is the hearty invitation that Old Gaol on Church Square in Swellendam extends to its patrons. And that is exactly what we did. We feasted and tasted five wines at their wine lounge with a Tapas and Wine Tasting Event with the famous Du Toitskloof Wines.

We ate, we drank and we were merry! Willie Stoffberg, winemaker at Du Toitskloof Wines guided us through a wine tasting while we feasted on traditional roosterkoek, pork belly, steak, lamb lollies, spring rolls and salads.

Du Toitskloof Wines

Du Toitskloof Winery is an inclusive winery that produces wines that are not only delicious but also very good value for money. Their range includes something for everyone, for every occasion. The winery is innovative in terms of winemaking, experimenting with small plantings of lesser-known cultivars and has achieved considerable success. Click here to buy their wines.

Du Toitskloof Wines is part of the international recognised Fairtrade organisation. Over 2000 people have directly benefited from the Du Toitskloof Fairtrade Initiative which include children’s day-care centers, a clinic and mobile clinic, a primary school with a bus-service, bursaries for high-school learning and tertiary education, adult literacy projects, health and safety education, a computer center and a state-of-the-art mobile library and media center.

Wine On The Veranda

Before the feast started, I had the opportunity to chat with Willie about Du Toitskloof Wines and winemaking. Watch our conversation here. I would love to hear from you! Which is your favourite Du Toitskloof Wine?
