Tokara Sauvignon Blanc has been ranked a Top 100 Wine of 2018 by the editors of Wine Enthusiast, the highly regarded and most authoritative wine publication in the USA.

The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc vintage is included in this definitive list of the year’s most exceptional wines with a score of 90/100. Tasting Director and Senior Editor, Lauren Buzzeo, lauded the wine for its “sunny, forward personality”.

“Bright, crisp and clean, this has a classic Sauvignon Blanc character of vibrant citrus aromas and flavors that are framed by notes of grass and melon rind. It’s just shy of medium weight with zippy acidity that shines alongside the lively flavors of fresh-cut grass and juicy citrus supremes,” is her take on this lively summer wine.

Sauvignon blanc is a significant cornerstone at TOKARA, the prestigious family owned Stellenbosch wine estate on the foothills of the Simonsberg. The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc, which was commended on home turf with a Veritas gold medal, is an intriguing blend of fruit from both TOKARA’s Stellenbosch and Elgin vineyards. Quince, Granny Smith apple and subtle lemongrass, typical of the cooler Elgin site, meld seamlessly with tropical notes, more reminiscent of Stellenbosch Sauvignon blanc.

Limited bottles of TOKARA Sauvignon Blanc 2017 are still available for purchase online or at the cellar door at R90 a bottle. For more information visit www.tokara.com
