When I first read about a little innovative event idea that combined good food and amazing wines with fun dining venues and good company I couldn’t wait to see what all the buzz was about.

When I first read about a little innovative event idea that combined good food and amazing wines with fun dining venues and good company I couldn’t wait to see what all the buzz about. And so when I happened along the event invite on Facebook to join a group of bubbly and art lovers for an evening enjoying the finer things in life at one of my favourite eateries in the Mother City, I simply had to attend. And it's safe to say from there on out I was hooked!

Sybil Doms, the mastermind behind the Come Wine With Us brand is an expert in putting together the chicest of soirées. She finds the venue, matches great food with even better wines, and all that’s left is for great minds to come together for one-of-a-kind experiences that you would be hard-pressed (no pun intended) to recreate yourself.

While the event I attended paired magnificent bubblies from Boschendal with wild and wacky art pieces, it’s their next event that has my mouth watering with anticipation. As wintery nights grow longer and rain floods a dreary Cape Town, red wine and fireplaces are ever calling. And so enters Alto Wines.

This Stellenbosch winery has built their reputation on delivering world-class red wines and winemaker, Bertho van der Westhuizen, has taken the reigns from his father and his father’s father, becoming the fifth winemaker in the estate’s wine-making history.

I look forward to listening to Bertho has he shares his passion for wine at Cape Town’s famous FORK Restaurant in August at the next Come Wine With US event. It’s sure to be a cracker with a tapas style dinner and lazy tunes setting the mood, courtesy of Ben Day & the Concrete Lions. Those hailing from the concrete jungle can also join the fun as a similar event will take place at Melville’s new La Stalla restaurant on the 25th and 26th of July.

Don’t miss out! Check out the events on the Come With With Us site here. Hope to see you there!
