The JamesSuckling.com tasting note for Morgenster Reserve 2011 comments: “Structured and firm red with currant, berry, dark chocolate and spice character. Hints of sweet tobacco. Full body, yet tight and precise. Long and flavorful. Beautiful now but will improve in the future. A blend of merlot, cabernet and petit verdot”.

Its tasting note for Lourens River Valley 2011 says: “This is a fascinating red with bright berry character and lots of stone, tile and rust undertones. Full body, yet tight and polished tannins give it form and focus. Delicious now but better after 2019. A blend of cabernet franc, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot”.
