The Perdeberg Dry Land Collection Barrel Fermented Chenin Blanc 2015 is made by Albertus Louw and his cellar team, in a rich complex style with the grapes picked at perfect ripens and able to undergo both fermentation and maturation in small French oak barrels.
Cellarmaster & Leader of the Cellar Team Albertus Louw
It looks like
Packed under cork in a Burgundy shaped bottle. The label stands apart from the traditional Perdeberg livery, as it is a premium range of wines. In the glass, it is a rich straw colour with some green flashes.
It smells like
It has all the characteristics typical to Chenin Blanc grown under dry land conditions. Citrus, lemon zest, soft dried pear, ripe white-fleshed peach and apricot flavours. Nice little brush of oak and its concomitant spices.
It tastes like
Classical Chenin flavours, desiccated pineapple and vanilla, white fynbos flowers. Good mouthful, excellent mid palate and a perfect long ending which is crisp with harmonious acidity. Enjoy now or cellar for up to 5 years under perfect condition.
