This full-bodied red took root from outstanding Franschhoek vines grown
in well-drained, decomposed sandstone soils that are so ideal for the
cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon. Extra care was taken with canopy management
to ensure even ripeness and berries of deep colour and concentrated fruit
flavours.
The 2011 vintage was oak-matured for 15 months, resulting in smooth,
velvety tannins and an elegant, rewarding finish with a touch of mint.
“Our Cabernet Sauvignon boasts upfront red berry aromas on the nose with
ripe berry fruit, plum and delicate white pepper notes following through onto
the palate. It is perfect to enjoy now, but will also benefit from additional
cellaring for three to five years,” says Winemaker Karl Lambour, who recommends
this versatile food wine with poultry and red meat dishes.
