Marque 1.
Krone
Borealis Vintage Cuvée Brut 2013
Elegant with a
fresh apple and classic biscuity bouquet with hints of jasmine, the bubbles are
fine and persistent and pleasing with every sip. A rich lees-creaminess on the
palate allows the pecan nut and
sweet pear flavours to fill the mouth and fade away
in a refreshing finish.
Following on from Krone’s tradition of hand-picking
their grapes under the stars in the cool of the night to retain flavour and
aroma, the Krone Borealis was named after a constellation of stars called the
‘Corona Borealis’.hus, the God of Wine. The story goes that Bacchus, the God of Wine, to prove his love for Ariadne,
daughter of the King of Crete, threw his golden crown into the heavens where it
remained forever as the dainty constellation of stars called the Corona
Borealis. Corona means crown, as does Krone, giving rise to Krone Borealis –
the bottle fermented sparkling wine that is full of ‘stars’.
Krone
Rosé Cuvée Brut 2013
Elegant, sassy and refreshing
with a subtle salmon pink hue and a fine creamy mousse, the Krone Rosé Cuvée
Brut displays pomegranate, red apple and delicate berry notes and has a long
and complex finish. Krone Rosé Cuvée Brut turns heads and enlivens any occasion
with a touch of refreshing gaiety and class: a refined natural sophistication
adding to its allure. Dressed in fashionable pink from top to bottom, it sets
the stage for a memorable moment, whoever you are, wherever you go.
Krone
Night Nectar Demi-Sec 2012
A charmingly drinkable, fruity and
generous with a satisfying touch of sweetness. Named in honour of the once
practised Krone tradition of night harvesting, it has a creamy, fine mousse and
shows expressive aromas of baked golden apples and almonds. Refreshing lemon
curd and subtle marzipan flavours fill the palate and linger on the aftertaste,
leaving the
taste buds calling for more.
Nicolas Charles
Krone Marque 1
The flagship MCC is a tribute to the late Nicolas
Charles Krone, or NC as he was better known, one of the great pioneers in the
winelands in his time and one of the first to use cold fermentation, who was
married to Vera La Marque for 62 years. This multi-vintage special release is an
assemblage of the best from each cuvee, and, in line with the Krone tradition, epitomises elegance
and complexity. The bouquet offers classic biscuit notes, the mousse is fine
and persistent and the palate offers a delicious mouthful of baked apple pie
flavours and a creaminess which stems from the extended lees contact.
