The panel of judges awarded a Silver medal for their locally
designed Leopard Spot Red and White wine range and a Bronze for the Baboon’s
Cuddle Pinotage, Baboon’s Cheek Viognier
and the Baboon’s Swing Chenin Blanc, designed by Italian creative agency Mumble
Design.
Michela Dalpiaz, co-owner of Ayama Wines comments that they
are happy to share this achievement with their two beloved countries, and feels
that their co-operative approach highlights the best of both.
“Mumble Design has been part of the Ayama experience right
from the beginning and was responsible for our Gold Medal at the same awards
for the Baboon’s Back Shiraz last year. We felt however that we needed a South African design partner as well,
and after being introduced to Sumi Gous of Sumi Creative Co in Somerset West, a
new and mutually beneficial relationship was started in our adopted country,”
she explains.
The Baboon’s range is now complete and with the newly
released Leopard Spot range being delivered into stores locally and globally,
the message is clear: “Together we are an unbeatable team,” she says.
The 2014 Harpers Global Design Awards for the first time
this year drew entries from around the world, packaging was judged as a whole,
and the designs were judged according to the price level and type of shopper
they were aimed at.
