Nederburg has come away with three gold outstanding medals and two golds from the 2014 International Wine & Spirit Competition in London this year, all for its specialty sweet wines.
Nederburg had the highest number of gold outstanding awards amongst the South African contenders, with wines having to score at least 95 on a 100-point scale to earn this distinction. The trio of gold outstanding medals went to the 2012 vintage of the Winemaster’s Reserve Noble Late Harvest 2012, a readily available wine that has already been widely decorated, as well as two wines sold exclusively on the Nederburg Auction: the 2011 Private Bin Edelkeur and 2010 Private Bin Eminence.

The two golds went to the 2009 vintage of the Edelkeur and Eminence.

Earlier this year, Nederburg's 2011 Winemaster's Reserve Noble Late Harvest won an International Wine Challenge trophy, also in London.

Meanwhile, a 12-bottle case of the 375ml Edelkeur from the 1979 vintage, sold at the recent Nederburg Auction, fetched a whopping R29 000, working out at R2 416.66 per half bottle.
