Kenilworth Racing and Avontuur Estate hosted the R1 000 000 Gr 1 2013 Cape Fillies Final Field Announcement at the winery and thoroughbred stud farm last week with the support of owners, trainers & representatives from various countries participating in the Intercontinental Village, charities and media supporters attending the glamorous event.
With some of South Africa’s top fillies in the running, the draw is crucial for the final field as good draws would ensure that horses from all over South Africa would participate in the event on Saturday, 7 December at Kenilworth, adding to the excitement and value of the race.

Horses to watch out for is Along Came Polly, In the Fast Lane and Alascan Maiden amongst others whilst the Avontuur Team is obviously excited about the inclusion of She’s a Pippa by VAR as well as all the other great runners from the country’s top owners trained by some of the best in the country.

The race day is set to be busier than ever with the Intercontinental Village featuring seven countries offering their traditional dishes, a large safe kiddies entertainment area, a beer garden and wine bar and the new addition of the Backing the Best Chill Lounge at the winning post.

Access to the race course is free, there is ample parking and the event is incredibly family friendly. We look forward to seeing you there.
