Richard Hilton
Pax Verbatim Vineyards has re-branded to the owner’s name, Richard Hilton Vineyards, and is celebrating its individuality after more than ten years of producing fine wines.

Wine lover Richard Hilton is ecstatic about this prestigious and sought after milestone. “I’m humbled and over the moon that this wine is among the select few to be awarded 5 stars from the thousand’s tasted in this year’s Platter’s 2014. Among my benchmark wines of the world are the Côte-Rôtie and Single Vineyard or ‘La-La’ wines of the Northern Rhône. In tribute, I would like to dedicate this wine to my personal human benchmark, my father, DGE Hilton.”

Specialising in the Rhône varietals of Syrah and Viognier, Richard Hilton Vineyards continues to work alongside two highly skilled growers, focusing on some prime vineyard blocks in both the Helderberg and Elgin. Crushed since its inception in 2003 at Welgevallen Winery (owned by the University of Stellenbosch), the wines of  Richard Hilton continue their vinification and maturation at this historic cellar, where Dr Abraham Perold once made his first studies in developing Pinotage in the 1920’s.
