Vital Health Foods
Vital Health Foods, in association with Run/Walk for Life WP Athletics Club, will host the fourth annual Vital Run at Lourensford Wine Estate in aid of the PATCH Helderberg Centre for Abused Children on Saturday, 7 December 2013.
Participants are able to enter the 21 km run, 10 km run, 10 km walk or the 4 km fun run/walk.
The 21 km and 10 km races are both off-road scenic routes. For the 21 km runners can expect a 3 km climb at the start, followed by contouring jeep tracks and farm road below the foot of the Helderberg Mountains, passing the Brinksburg Dam. The second half is mainly downhill on easy forest and farm road. The route’s surface is definitely not suitable for wheelchairs and strollers.

The initial 5 km of the 10 km routes are rough on foot but worth the effort. The course then contours back, with a comfortable downhill and level gravel road to the finish.
The fun run course will follow a different route through the beautiful estate which is relatively flat and easy, and suitable for all ages.

Medals will be handed out to all who finish within the cut-off time and expect lucky draws at the prize giving. After completing the course, participants can enjoy the ever-popular festive family market which boasts breakfast delicacies and tasters. The Market is child friendly.

Participants can pre-enter online at www.vitalrun.co.za before 22 November 2013, or find entry forms inserted in the November issue of Runner’s World. Late entries will be accepted on the morning of the run between 05h00–06h15 at the venue.
