The International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) is regarded as one of the toughest annual competitions and saw a record number of entries in 2013 but only a small number of wines won medals. South African wines were judged in Paarl with most of the gold medal-winning wines from the top end of producers' ranges. The two stage judging process takes place over a six-month period, consisting of blind tastings and detailed technical analysis. Entries are judged by panels drawn from 250 specialists from around the world. Rosalind, meaning beautiful rose, is a Bordeaux blend comprised of Cabernet Franc (44%), Cabernet Sauvignon (44%) and Merlot (12%). A well crafted wine showing elegance and balance that can be matured for 12-20 years.Mooiplaas also won a Silver medal for their Pinotage 2012 vintage.
