Beau Joubert would really like to bring out an über cool
completely with-it limited edition
wine label, so who better to ask than the general public to participate in
designing an eclectic totally hipster label?
Of course, “hipster” can range anything between
moustaches, beards, checkered shirts, skinny jeans, funky typography posters, indie-rock
music, counter-culture revolution and progressive politics, and therefore Beau
Joubert would like to give a few specifications as to narrow the theme and
would thus like you to stick to… well, the wild farm critters on the estate!
It shouldn’t be as boring as it sounds. It’s your
job to make it cool.
To have animals on a wine label is one of the top
ten international wine label trends at the moment, and it can also be a very
hipster thing too.
So… Your task as a designer is to create a funky
hipster animal wine label for us with one or more of the following farm
creatures: Egyptian geese, squirrels, swallows, barn owls, crows, guinea fowl,
weasels, weavers, field mice, pigeons, fish eagles, speckled mousebirds,
falcons and steenbok.
Quite a few to choose from, right?
The fun part is the fact that your design can be
quirky and colorful, or it can be simplistic and make a bold statement. It’s
all up to you.
Here are some things that you need to know before
you enter:
Entries and starter pack-
The competition will be open from 1 September 2013
to all persons above the age of 18 years.
Yes, only people that are old enough to consume wine, so no school pupils,
okay?
No entry fees are applicable. E-mail your name and
details to info@beaujoubert.com or just fill out the online entry form on the website, and we will
email you the label size requirements and format specifications, a Beau Joubert
logo as well as the tasting notes of the wine for inspiration.
The label design will be for a red wine blend that
received 4 stars in the recent John Platter Wine Guide (it’s the good stuff). Text
and images that must appear on the label are the Beau Joubert logo as provided,
and the words “Red Blend”. The logo can be used anywhere on the label, and it
can even be sketched onto your design to be original to your artwork.
The rest are up to your discretion. Please do not
refer on the label to the name of the animal that you use, e.g. “The Guinea
Fowl”, as there are certain trademark restrictions in the industry otherwise
your design will immediately be eliminated.
Winner and Prize
The competition ends on 31 October 2013.
The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges as
seen on our website, and the winner will be announced on 14 November 2013. Judges
will take into consideration the popularity of a design according to the amount
of social media shares or retweets, so prompt your friends to support your
effort online.
The winner will receive a case of twelve bottles of
his labeled wines, as well as 10% of all purchases of this limited edition.
So… are you keen? You should be! This could make you famous! Who doesn’t want his or her art to be featured on a wine bottle? Go online and submit your details at www.beaujoubert.com.
