Simonsig Estate
Seize the opportunity to taste and buy rare vintage gems and enjoy a family day out filled with hearty foods, music and children’s activities at Simonsig’s Vintage Wine Day hosted on Saturday, 24 August when this landmark Stellenbosch estate showcases a fine selection of older signature wines held back for release at optimal maturity.
With vintages dating back to the early 90's, cellarmaster Johan Malan has dug deep to share his private selection from the stash of Simonsig greats which will be available exclusively at the Simonsig Vintage Wine Day. The line-up of yesteryear’s hero wines includes older vintages of Simonsig flagships such as the Bordeaux style Tiara, the Cape blend, Frans Malan Reserve, the award winning Redhill Pinotage and Merindol Syrah. To appeal to all tastes, wine lovers can also look forward to rare vintages of Simonsig Pinotage, Simonsig Cabernet Sauvignon and Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Méthode Cap Classiques. As an added bonus, these rare wines will be available at special prices for this day only.

Wine enthusiasts keen to learn more and take an in-depth look at these wines should not miss Johan's master classes presented at the Vintage Wine Day. Offered free of charge exclusively to festival goers, these classes will offer interactive vertical wine tastings and will start at 11h00 and 14h00. Only a limited amount of Master Class seats are available, for reservations email info@dnaevents.co.za

Tickets to the Simonsig Vintage Wine Day are available online at Webtickets at R150 per person. Early birds booking online can take advantage of the Vintage Day special offer which includes a complimentary ticket to the event and a selection of six vintage wines at R600. A limited amount of tickets will also be available at Simonsig Estate on the day of the event. The Vintage Wine Day will be held in the Simonsig tasting room with ample seating under cover in the adjacent Bedouin tent.

To add to the festivities Chef Lucas Carstens and his team will whip up a variety of festive foods. You can look forward to delicious chicken and noodle broth, wild mushroom skewers, meaty sandwiches as well as kiddies’ treats. Whilst parents enjoy the vintage wines accompanied by the viby sounds of Newton & Co, children can immerse themselves in a myriad of supervised activities from rides on little John Deere tractors to jumping sessions on the trampoline and jumping castle.
