Calling all golfers and golfing enthusiasts. We highly recommend you get acquainted with Ernst Gouws and Co's, The 19th Wine.
Golf is a game of dedication and commitment and wine, to stand next to such an iconic sport, must be of equal merit.

I've never played golf, perhaps because I believe checkered pants will do nothing for my figure or perhaps because I could never see how I could link wine to it. The other half adores it whilst I sit in the club lounge inwardly weeping for my wine fridge. Ah dear Ernst, such a clever chap to think of not only the golfers who, after a long hard slog, need a juicy pick-me-up, but also the forgotten partners who need sustenance.

There are brains in this wine maker.

The concept, identified when a friend wailed about the poor wine choices at most golf courses he attended, has been driven by Ernst as he goes out personally to clubs to assist with their drinking issues - I believe it is a relatively untapped market so it's all systems go!
There are two wines in the 19th portfolio, a Sauvignon Blanc and a Shiraz/Merlot. The family already has a stellar reputation for high scoring wines so Ernst, if you are reading this, please tell me which golf course you left my bottles behind on!!

How do you sum up the wine, well, as Ernst himself states, "There’s basically no half-arsing at The 19th Wines and we’re going at this full-throttle!"

The wines aren't available to the public - clever hey! - so go grab yourself a round or three of golf:

They are proud to be associated with the following golf and country clubs
