Bouchard Finlayson
Showing a face to our wines and meeting the caring faces who enjoy them is very much part of the expression and appreciation of what I do. This requires travelling and “every time I leave home another road takes me into a world I have never been in before” (John O’Donohue).
Of late I was fortunate to visit two most exquisite spots - extreme contrasts indeed. Firstly the Okavango Delta and secondly the UK with emphasis on the London Wine Trade Fair, Hampshire, Edinburgh and Gent (Belgium). I was invited by Wilderness Safaris, to Botswana to host team training in different camps and one of the highlights of the trip was interacting with the ABU camp trained elephants where Hannibal and Tête de Cuvée Pinot Noir featured in a - dare I say - “trunk call”!

In the UK it is the train travel which captures my nomad spirit. A place to savour the countryside, a place to meet the most interesting of travellers and receiving the news of our first ever Gold “double” placed a very easy burden on my nomad spirit.

Two Decanter Gold Awards this year made me feel younger than my years… A great way to travel and a wonderful token of gratitude for two happy wines on their own magic journey of maturation!
