Throughout the weekend at participating wine farms there will be a wide choice of tours, wine tastings, pairings and cooking demos and a visit to Solms-Delta and Fyndraai restaurant at 12noon for 12.30pm on Saturday or Sunday, is an absolute must. The Solms-Delta team has put together a special culinary experience.
Upon arrival visitors will enjoy a brief introduction to the Museum van de Caab and then take a tractor ride to the Dik Delta culinary gardens where after a complimentary glass of Dik Delta Perry, a sparkling cider-style pear beverage, there will be a guided tour of the culinary gardens, where you will be able to pick herbs along the way and taste the produce.
Then back onto tractor and trailer to Fyndraai restaurant for a cooking demo with executive chef Shaun Schoeman, when he will reveal his secrets of cooking with veldfood freshly gathered from the indigenous garden.
You will then tuck into a delicious three course meal, each course paired with one of the Solms wines and assistant winemaker Joan Heatlie will chat about the wines and answer questions.
Well wined and dined, everyone will leave bearing a complimentary gift of Dik Delta Spekboom and jars of other Dik Delta products will be on display.
