Whilst all of the participating winemakers work for notable estates, they are also producing unique, interesting and sometimes wacky wines under their own labels. Young Guns lll will be held on the 12th of June at The River Club in Observatory, Cape Town and on the 4th of July at the University of Johannesburg. Forget stuffy tastings – there will be music, there will be wine and there will be many a bearded Swartlander. Expect this year’s tastings to be bigger and better than ever before. The line-up will be a mix of new and old faces, including husband-and-wife team Chris and Susan Alheit of Alheit Vineyards. After wowing the audience at Young Guns 2012, they went on to achieve international acclaim and to receive five stars in Platter – South Africa’s veritable wine bible. They’ll present their wines alongside seven other talented renegades.
