Experience Fleur du Cap with delicacies and exotic salts at SA Cheese Festival

Experience the unusual combination of Fleur du Cap wines and artisanal salts at the 2013 SA Cheese Festival taking place at Sandringham Estate, right next to the N1 on the outskirts of Stellenbosch.
Salt Aficionado Chef Craig Cormack will treat festival goers to exciting tastings with three Fleur du Cap Pinotage vintages paired with delicious nibbles, dusted lightly in exotic salts from around the world, in the Pinotage Theatre.
 
Prepare you taste buds for braised beef samosa, sour fig preserve and green mango atjar paired with Fleur du Cap Pinotage 2009 or smoked venison, beetroot puree, mustard crème cheese and cumin onion marmalade paired with the 2011 vintage.
 
The complex Pinotage 2005 paired with beef tartar, poached quail egg and garlic emulsion is also not to be missed.
 
Tastings take place daily with three presentations per day: 11h00 to 12h00, 13h00 to 14h00 and 15h00 to 16h00. Opening times for the festival are, Friday from 10h00 to 22h00, on Saturday from 10h00 to 18h00 and Sunday from 10h00 to 17h00.
 
Tickets for this action packed weekend are available at R115 from Computicket and in all Shoprite, Checkers, Checkers Hyper and House & Home outlets (no tickets at the gates). Senior citizens pay R90 and children 13 years and younger enter free. Wine tasting glasses will be on sale at R15 at the gates.
