Do you have a passion for wine? Are you interested in learning more about wine? Are you currently working in the wine service industry?
Jordan Wine Estate is offering to sponsor a successful candidate to attend the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET)  courses ( Level 1 and 2)  being held in Cape Town, by Approved Programme Provider, Cathy Marston, well known wine educator and wine writer (www.cathymarston.co.za).

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) was founded in 1969 to provide high quality education and training in wines and spirits.  Since then, it has grown into the foremost international wines and spirits education provider, with a range of sought-after qualifications now taught in 60 countries around the world. A WSET qualification is highly-regarded in international hospitality and wine industries and will stand the holder in good stead when it comes to entering the competitive job market. Taught here in South Africa by WSET-qualified tutors, Masters of Wine and industry-experts, WSET can start you on the road to success in the world of wine.

This “Women In Wine” sponsorship, being offered by Jordan Wine Estate, Stellenbosch is open to all previously disadvantaged black, female candidates who have a matric certificate, and can speak and read English fluently.

To apply, please fax +27.218813426 or email (info@jordanwines.com ) an essay of not more than 800 words motivating why you should receive this sponsorship.  Please also send a short CV (one page) including your contact details.

The successful candidate must be available to attend the WSET courses in Cape Town (Level 1 begins on 20th July 2013).

In addition to this world-class learning experience gained through attending the WSET courses, Jordan Wine Estate will invite the successful candidate to visit the Estate, seasonally where she will be able to practically experience viticultural and winemaking activities that occur during the different times of the year.This will aid the candidate in putting into practice what is being learnt through the WSET courses.

“Women in Wine” is an  initiative started by Jordan Wine Estate during the latter part of 2012.  Through this initiative we aim to assist previously disadvantaged black women who are currently already involved in or considering entering the wine industry (whether currently waitering, working in wine sales or interested in studying more about wine ) by sponsoring a candidate to further her education in wine through attending the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) courses (Level 1 and Level 2) co-ordinated by Cathy Marston in Cape Town.  Through working with the WSET, we hope to assist the wine industry and related industries, by further educating young women in the captivating world of wine.
