Top 100 SA Wines
Inbound enquiries for information on launch dates have been increasing. The 2013 ‘Top 100 SA Wines’ Challenge is about to open for entries. The invitation email and updated website will go live this Friday.
Now into its third year, the team is very excited to get the latest Challenge underway.

Entries for the 2013 Challenge open with the ‘early bird’ as well as ‘loyalty’ special prices, this Friday 25th January. Given an early Easter this year, the timetable will be slightly tighter than before. The upgraded electronic entry system, the first in SA, is designed to make entering wines both easier and faster for you.

The top quality judging panel led by Tim Atkin MW will start the exciting task of assessing all entered wines on Monday 18th March, as the panels work towards identifying those 100 highest scoring wines.

We will again offer a feedback review session in Stellenbosch, on the evening of Wed 20th March.

Top 100 SA Wines offers you unique, commercial, marketing opportunities, as well as enhanced brand and wine sales results. Recent strategic additions to our activity on behalf of Top 100 winning wines include:

• The ‘show’ moving to Germany (immediately after judging) where we will promote and feature 40 fine 2012 winning wines at PROWEIN from the 8 metre Top 100 stand.
• Discussions are underway with key CHINESE nationals to develop sales (as opposed to marketing) and importer/distributor contract opportunities.
• Almost 100 WINNING RESTAURANT WINE BUYERS from the TOP 100 WINE LIST AWARDS CHALLENGE have been offered a free ticket to the public tasting festivals. They will taste and assess winning wines for possible listings. A DURBAN event will be included this year, in addition to JHB and CT events.

Winners will have many advantages open to them. These options are growing in number and in stature.

Finally, a reminder that all wine entries will, as ever, remain confidential. There is no downside risk.

We again thank all vineyards that have demonstrated their much valued support. We ask, and encourage, all vineyards this year to please join in, and support this very active SA fine wine promotion venture.

Save the dates and prepare your finest wines for SA’s gruelling wine challenge – the first in the SA calendar!
