The annual Nedbank VinPro Information Day will be presented in January for the eighth year in a row, with legendary strategist and scenario planner Clem Sunter as keynote speaker on the particularly interesting programme.
The annual Nedbank VinPro Information Day will be presented in January for the eighth year in a row, with legendary strategist and scenario planner Clem Sunter as keynote speaker on the particularly interesting programme.

This event coincides with the 10 year celebration of VinPro, the wine producers' representative body. As usual, a number of prominent speakers will present their perspectives on subjects such as wine industry prospects and renewed challenges. It is considered a crucial event for all wine producers and stakeholders in the wine industry value-chain, to equip themselves for the new year.
 
The day takes place on 24 January 2013 at the Lord Charles Hotel, Somerset West, from 08:00 - 12:45.

The Information Day has been an institution on the wine industry calendar since 2006, with top international and local speakers giving overviews of the economic outlook, both domestic and international market trends and harvest expectations, as well as political issues of the day.

Nedbank economist Nicky Weimar will start the day with her economic forecasts for 2013, after which Clem Sunter, chairman of the Anglo American Chairman’s Fund, will be the keynote speaker.

VinPro Consultation Services manager Francois Viljoen will present his seasonal overview and harvest expectations, followed by executive director Rico Basson who will discuss VinPro's new focus after 10 years.

National Wine Buyer for Makro SA, Carolyn Barton, will give an overview of domestic retail wine market trends, after which Dr Johan Bruwer from Adelaide University will elaborate on the international wine environment. The chief executive officer of the Agricultural Business Chamber, Dr John Purchase, will conclude the day by expounding on the challenges facing South African Agriculture.

The 2012 Information Day was attended by more than 500 stakeholders from across the wine industry value-chain – from the primary producer to cellar management and the financial sector.

VinPro encourages all established and emerging wine producers, as well as stakeholders in the cellar and marketing fields, to attend the day.

A registration cost of R350 per person is payable before 12 December 2012 (R450 per person thereafter) and includes lunch.
