Laborie Estate
Opening a bottle of bubbly marks the start of a celebration, getting together to toast an achievement or a special moment in our lives. Laborie, established in 1691 by the Taillefert family, is renowned for their meticulously crafted Méthode Cap Classique wines (MCC). Produced in the typical French style, Laborie offers a Blanc de Blancs, Brut and Rosé MCC.
Available in new packaging the range is set to fit in stylishly at any occasion. The Blanc de Blancs 2008 has moved towards a classical gunmetal coloured label with touches of gold to compliment the seal over the neck of the bottle and the cork. This award winning wine with its green-tinged colour displays layers of citrus, spring blossom, white peach, grapefruit and peach. A quality MCC with a distinct personality and cellar potential of up to 7 years from vintage, this wine is a perfect companion for any connoisseur.

“The 2008 Laborie Brut crafted from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay cultivars is creamy on the palate with a beautifully textured balance. Vintage conditions set the stage for a promising season with intermittent periods of warm and cool weather for the ripening period. This resulted in a wine with greater balance and vibrant fruit flavours”, says Cobus van Graan, Laborie General Manager. The packaging of this pale straw sparkling wine is easy recognisable with ivory coloured labels lending quality and distinction to the Brut, known for its apple, citrus and toasted nut aromas.

The Laborie Brut Rosé joined the MCC offering at the end of 2010. Easily recognisable the packaging reflects a light soft pink with touches of gold. The Rosé 2009 is a light salmon pink sparkling wine, with flavours of strawberry, red apple, sherbet and brioche. The palate is creamy and smooth with a perfect balance.

“All of these sparkling wines can be served well chilled and enjoyed on their own or with oysters, delicate seafood dishes and salads. Catering for every palate anyone can celebrate great moments with the unique French flair that Laborie is so well known for”, concludes van Graan.

Available in all major retail outlets the Blanc de Blancs retails at a RSP of R99.99, Brut at a RSP of R82.00 and the Rosé at a RSP of R93.00.
