Twenty wineries from the region will presenting their wines, including new releases, at this show in the grand ballroom of the hotel. Margi Hoffe, Chairperson of the Helderberg Wine Route said that this show is growing annually and is getting more popular with regulars who have attended the show over the last two years. “But we wish to keep the show intimate by getting the public to have lengthy chats with winemakers without feeling that they are part of a massive crowd. We therefore limit the number of tickets to 300!” This informal wine show is held from 17h00 to 21h00. Participating wineries are Avontuur, Uva Mira, Vergenoegd, Bilton, Eikendal, Hidden Valley, Peter Falke Wines, Ridgemor, Longridge, Lourensford, Ken Forrester Wines, Onderkloof, Somerbosch, Waterkloof, Yonder Hill, Croydon, Annandale, Lyngrove, Grangehurst and Idiom Wines. At a mere R50, visitors will receive an elegant 350ml Lara wine glass branded with the Helderberg Wine Route logo, and have the opportunity to taste around 100 of the regions best wines. Wines will also be for sale at the show. During and after the wine-tasting, guests can relax at one of the tables set up in a temporary restaurant area where dishes like Prawns with dipping sauces, Chicken Drumstick Lollipops with Potato Wedges, Chicken Spring Rolls and Sauces, Salt and Pepper Asian Fried Squid with Tartare Sauce, Cheese and Biltong-plates and Preserves as well as Beef Kofta’s with dipping sauce and Salad, will be on offer. None of these dishes will cost more than R45.
