Remhoogte are delighted to announce the birth of a baby zebra on Saturday 31st January 2010, an offspring from the quagga breeding project.
The new zebra was born to a female from the quagga project. Quaggas typically had brownish hindquarters with no stripes and the new baby displays these characteristics.

Remhoogte have a game camp on the farm, created in a low and warm area which was not as ideal for vineyards as the surrounding cooler slopes of the estate. The camp has zebra, springbok and wildebeest, and last year acquired two more female zebra from the quagga project. The area has been of great interest to the visitors to Remhoogte and the animals can be easily viewed while tasting the wines.

The 2008 vintages of the Remhoogte Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage have recently been released and are available for tasting and sales from the estate. In previous years Remhoogte produced only blends but have started making single varietals again. The Remhoogte tasting room is open from 10h00 to 17h00 during the week and by appointment on weekends.
