Rust en Vrede receives top award from Great Wine Capitals global network

Rust en Vrede Estate was announced as the South African winner in the latest Great Wine Capitals Best of Wine Tourism Competition.
It also shared the title of top winery restaurant globally with a famous Italian restaurant in Chianti's Trebbio Castle, once owned by the Medici family.

The Great Wine Capitals network members, in addition to South Africa and Italy are France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Argentina and the US, with New Zealand having just joined.

Deputy Mayor of the Winelands Municipality Clarence Johnson presented the award to the acclaimed Stellenbosch estate, as well as to all the Cape's category winners over a lunch prepared by Rust en Vrede's chef, David Higgs.
